Forum Guidelines

When we launched the Garage we had no idea that the volume of posts we would see would escalate so quickly, in number and volume ("sound", not "space"). There is an amazing depth of passion that we have uncovered in our community that we truly appreciate. You obviously are our biggest fans. :)

Here are our "play nice" rules that we expect everyone to follow:

  1. Be polite.

  2. Don't respond to intentionally baiting posts. We will handle them.
  3. Please check other discussions (use "Search"!) before creating a new topic. Chances are, somebody has already started a thread on the topic you have in mind. Join that one with your insights!
  4. When you start a thread, please be descriptive in the title - it will help draw folks to the discussion.
  5. Use the "Preview" button as it was intended - to preview your post before everyone sees it. It is a great tool to ensure that you are submitting exactly what you intended to submit, not something that can be misconstrued.
  6. Refrain from "spamming" (posting gibberish, advertisements) and "trolling" (deliberating inciting unrest in the forums, derailing topic discussions, antagonizing other members).
  7. Do not impersonate GPG personnel.
  8. Do not post personal information about any Garage user.

Consequences for inappropriate behavior (also covered in the Terms of Use) can include email warnings, account access suspension, and account cancellation.
