[UPDATED] Supreme Commander -- New Forums Announcement

To celebrate the release of Supreme Commander, we're pleased to announce the launch of brand-new forums that are specifically for Supreme Commander. The new forums will be hosted by GPGnet; as of Friday, February 16th 15th, the Supreme Commander forums that currently reside on the Garage will be shut down.

As a part of this process, Supreme Commander-related content on the Garage will not be transferred to the new forums.

All of the Dungeon Siege-related forums will continue to be hosted on the Garage. We?re going to upgrade the DS community to a new forums package in the future, and we will strive to keep all of the DS forum content intact.

Thank you for patience during this transition.

After all the energy you put into developing this, I'm sorry to hear that. I know how you feel though: I was paying some guy a research commission when he claimed he could invent me a universal cyclable-lever machine that would revolutionise machinery and locomotion, but I had to fire him after he gave me a wheel.

Seriously though... Do I understand correctly by thinking you will not be leaving the existing content up? If you are deleting it, would it be possible to do a database dump of all the threads so we can archive it on SupComU or FileUniverse or something? It's amazing what sort of junk people leave lying around on old FTPs to find 10 years later. Smiling

Oh god no. I'm not sad at all. I prefer phpBB. the Garage was originally intended for collaborative writing AND forums. But.. usuage is way higher, and the Drupal forums package is sub par.

Me happy. Not sad. PLUS we are adding staff to better serve you.

Oh.. as for content. Our orginal intent was to be able to move key threads ( you guys could push a button ). As it stands now, we will simply move this forum to read only. PLUS we have staff mining for the key bits to move over; separating speculation ( pre-release ) from true fact ( post-release ).

A major clean up . .that can only benefit the majority in terms of quick refernce.

This data will still be here for a good long while. We would/will not simply dump it! Thats crazy talk. There is WAY too much time in here.

We'll do this in phases. Alerts will go out as needed. Let the new forums organize themselves; get outline going. Then... we could potentially ask for people to help us find what we missed. Thats just thinking outloud-talk.
